Unplug one of the monitor jack cables at the interface and touch the tip. At a glance I'd have plugged them into the wrong place.double check that. Your monitors should be plugged into line outputs 1+2. Is your focusrite listed and selected for input/output? Navigate to audio/midi setup in utilities.

I can talk you through checking which driver version is installed, if it comes to that. Go here and double check you've installed mix control 3.5 On the other hand, I've seen that happen when hardware is recognised but correct drivers aren't installed so. I guess this is because they have hardware master volume controls. I have to go into their control panel to enable system control of the interface. The greyed out volume adjuster might be normal enough. The MixControl loads the preset levels and says 'Connected' or 'In Use' for the Firewire connection but does not show any levels active on the fader (as I am not getting any input). I am not getting any input or output from the unit.

Can anyone give me some instructions for setup? Screenshots would be helpful too. Saffire Pro 40 help (no output from device) I am having issues with my Saffire Pro 40 which I recently purchased. I must be missing a simple setting somewhere that is throwing everything off. I have adjusted the sound setting on my computer already. I have uninstalled the drivers, re-installed, updated the computer and the mixing station for the saffire and I still can't get sound out of my monitors and my microphone won't pick up. The main volume bar for my computer is greyed out and I can not adjust the master volume. Also just to elaborate on mixcontrol and why your current setup should be playing: The monitor input selection is the physical location your monitors are plugged in to. It's something to do with windows and the saffire driver. Well I can select it but nothing happens. Then turn the interface on FIRST then the computer. I have everything hooked up correctly but my computer will not let me select the Saffire as the interface. Hopefully someone can help explain stuff to me in "stupid" terms because I'm not up to date on the fancy ones yet. It is worth noting that most computer audio software will send audio out of DAW 1 (Left Channel) and DAW 2 (Right Channel) by default.
